‘Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story…‘ These words, penned by ancient poets and authors, were an invocation to the Muses – the nine Greek goddesses who presided over the arts, daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne (the embodiment of memory). The artists implored the Muses for aid when composing poetry, hymns, or epic histories, in search for inspiration, skill, and insight, forever alluding to the profound bond between the artist and their muse.
Muse Light, a captivating illumination from the Roumelight collection, embodies this very spirit. It transcends the conventional boundaries of functional luminosity transforming into an artistic installation – a symphony of light that infuses any space with an air of jubilance, refinement and exuberant joy.
The remarkable luminaire challenges traditional lighting philosophies while simultaneously honouring femininity. It features a stellar element surrounded by five stiletto shoes arranged in a rotary fashion, all united by a tar-like finish. The overall aesthetic leans industrial, accentuated by a black nickel barley sheet base suspended by braided metal chains.
Its visually striking form radiates a powerful feminine essence, a tribute to womanhood as the wellspring of creativity and artistic inspiration. It makes a bold statement in any environment, epitomised by the quintessential symbol of femininity: the high heel.
