Curator’s note: The portrait of the infamous Jewish outlaw Barabbas, in a
fictional moment of penitence, as he thinks of the Golgotha’s hill top,
where Jesus was crucified in his stead. This is an aspect of a penitent Barabbas, aware of his evil deeds, but yet pious towards the earthly end of Christ. Probably a
depiction of the notion that even evil men can sometimes be curved by
the goodness of others.
